Madcatz has just announced that they are releasing an officially licensed MLG controller. There is an XBOX 360 and PS3 version. I know people usually see the Madcatz name and run. In the old days that would certainly be true. But they really have come a long way as far as quality is concerned. I have not gotten my hands on this controller yet but it looks very interesting. Here is what sets it apart from just your average controller.

This is a great evolution in gaming, A controller that you can swap out modules to have it just the way you want. So if you’re a PS3 player and also compete on XBOX 360 you can stick with a PS3 style controller. It works the other way around as well. Which I am greatful for as I hate PS3 controllers and feel more comfortable with the XBOX 360 Controller. So I’ll probably be buying a few of these MLG controllers even though I’m hardly MLG.

It also comes with that awesome case. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these so I can see if it’s build quality will stand up to my marathon COD sessions. Black Ops Game with Developers

In celebration of the Annihilation Map Pack Treyarch is going to be having a Game With Developers event tomorrow June 30th 4-8 PM ET (1-5 PM PT) To play with the devs you have to add the following gamertags. Just wanted to give a heads up that Afflicted Studios will be holding a tournament today at 12pm PST @ Justin.tv/AfflictedStudio Show up an hour before the event to sign up for a chance to win some nice gift certificates.

Final match was a best of 5 between BeAsTy-xX and VietWinnxPuma and VietWinnxPumatook took home the $100 Game Stop gift certificate with a 3-0 sweep. It was a great final round though and BeAsTy-xX earned his $50 gift certificate. Call of Duty: Black Ops – Multiplayer Teaser

Here is the first Multiplayer footage from Call Of Duty : Black Ops. The looks aren’t that different from MW2 and that’s to be expected as it’s running on pretty much the same engine. But that also means that it does look good. There are a few interesting points in this trailer.

1. They show a camera that you can set up and see what’s going on in a certain section as you explore. This is going to be a neat perk to help hunt down campers.

2. The 3 kill streak options is a remote controlled car. The car has a built in camera and C4 strapped to it. I can’t wait to check it out. I wonder that the limitations on it are as a 3 kill streak it’s pretty powerful.

3. The 4 kill streaks is an emergency crate.

4. This is probably my favorite weapon i’ve seen so far. A crossbow with explosive arrows. How bad ass is that. I love using my throwing knife to hunt. This is going to be a lot better hunting tool I think.

5. The 5 kill, Killstreak is a guided missile.

6. They also have a knife that is spring loaded. I can’t wait to see how effective that is at pissing people off.

7. One of the things that give me pause is at the 32 sec. mark. The lunge when he back stabs looks very commando like. I really hope that isn’t the case.

8. There will be in game video recording like in Halo 3. I can’t wait to see how comprehensive their tools are.

9. On September 1st they will be having the full multiplayer reveal. So make sure you come back here for all the coverage.

10. The map from the trailer is called launch.

Resurgence Map Pack Is Out For XBOX 360

The Resurgence map pack for the XBOX 360 has just been released. It consists of 5 maps for $1200 MSP. That’s 3 new maps and 2 classic maps from Call Of Duty 4. Here is a rundown of the maps as described on XBOX.com.
“The best-selling Xbox 360 game of all time gets even bigger with more new content, first on Xbox LIVE! The Resurgence Pack delivers five epic multiplayer maps: “Carnival,” an abandoned amusement park with a variety of unique vantage points; “Fuel,” a massive oil refinery with extremely long sightlines; “Trailer Park,” a maze-like mobile estate surrounded by war-torn debris. Two legendary maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare return more detailed than ever, including “Strike,” a large urban center in the desert; and “Vacant,” a fast-paced Russian office complex with few places to take cover. ” The maps weigh in at 359.51mb just so you know how much hard drive space you will need.
I’ll have a review and some videos up tomorrow. So far so good on that maps. I suggest you buy them if you’re a fan of COD and if you’re here that’s a pretty safe assumption.
