Madcatz MLG Controller

Madcatz has just announced that they are releasing an officially licensed MLG controller. There is an XBOX 360 and PS3 version. I know people usually see the Madcatz name and run. In the old days that would certainly be true. But they really have come a long way as far as quality is concerned. I have not gotten my hands on this controller yet but it looks very interesting. Here is what sets it apart from just your average controller.

This is a great evolution in gaming, A controller that you can swap out modules to have it just the way you want. So if you’re a PS3 player and also compete on XBOX 360 you can stick with a PS3 style controller. It works the other way around as well. Which I am greatful for as I hate PS3 controllers and feel more comfortable with the XBOX 360 Controller. So I’ll probably be buying a few of these MLG controllers even though I’m hardly MLG.

It also comes with that awesome case. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these so I can see if it’s build quality will stand up to my marathon COD sessions. Double XP Weekend Is On

Yup, MW2 double xp for the memorial day weekend is live right now. I’m about to hop on and level up  a few times before lunch. Make sure you take advantage of the double XP and ready yourself for the map pack next week. Where we will once again be getting double XP

Huge Shakeup At Infinity Ward

Big news in the Call of Duty world. The 2 heads of Infinity ward have been ousted by Activision. Things have been test for awhile between Infinity Ward and Activision but I don’t think anybody expected this. Yesterday afternoon a few security guards “Bouncer Types” as the initial reports put it. By the way I used to be a bounce was that an insult. If so i’ll teabag those sons a bitches.
Right now it’s been confirmed that Vince Zampella and Jason West the two head of Infinity Ward are no longer with the company. This is huge news considering they are behind the biggest blockbuster game of all time Modern Warfare 2. I can’t wait to learn all the details on this shocking development.
Activision has revealed some of their plans after this shocking announcement.
1. Activision is forming a dedicated Call of Duty business unit. Like their blizzard entertainment business unit this will allow them to grow the Call Of Duty brand in new directions.
2. They have announced the next game in the series will be out this fall and is being developed by Treyarch. We all knew this but it’s nice to get official word. Now maybe they will give us all more details on the game.
3. Infinity Ward is still scheduled to be releasing 2 map packs this year. It will be interesting to see how this shakeup at the studio effects the map packs.
4. In 2011 they will release yet another Call Of Duty game from an unnamed developer. So does this mean that Infinty Ward is getting the axe?
5. There will be another call of duty game released by Sledgehammer Games. The recently formed developer that is being headed by Dead Space creative leads Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey. It will be interesting to see where this team will take the call of duty series. I loved Dead Space and a creepy Call Of Duty would be great. It’s going to extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre.

So what are your feelings on this? I can’t really say what I feel on the whole firing situation til I see exactly what was going on. But the new directions the franchise is going in excited me. It’s a great series and having new blood injected into it might be a good thing.

Attention MW2 Cheaters

Well this is great news. The Pro over at the official MW2 Xbox forums has announced that cheaters of the carepackage and 10th prestige glitch are being suspended. So if you see anybody trying to sell 10th prestige report them and they should be banned. This is great and it’s nice to see they are handling the douchbags that have been ruining this game.

DLC Exclusive to Xbox 360

For 30 days only but damn it’s gotta suck for our PC and PS3 brothers and sisters. It’s nice to see some of my yearly live money be put to good use for once. Sorry about the lack of updates. 6 Hours until Modern Warfare 2 Release

Sure there have been many street dates broken. But MW2 is officially releasing at 12 tonight. If you’re going to a midnight event at a store near you let me know where it was and how busy it is. See you all on the Battlefield as soon as Amazon delivers my copy tomorrow.

Weekend Warrior Round 3 – Capture The Flag Edition (US)

Host Migration in Modern Warfare 2

At the end of today’s clip they showed a bit of the new host migration. Which is on of the only issues there was with COD4. It’s great they have apparently solved this issue. I wonder if they would be able to patch that into COD4. Not that it matters as COD Modern Warfare 2 is shaping up to be amazing. Just a little update. I added a clip to the post showing the part with the host migration.
