PS3 MW2 Tournament Today at 12pm PST

Just wanted to give a heads up that Afflicted Studios will be holding a tournament today at 12pm PST @ Justin.tv/AfflictedStudio Show up an hour before the event to sign up for a chance to win some nice gift certificates.
1st place is a $100 gift certificate to Game Stop
2nd place is a $50 gift certificate to Game Stop
Rules and guidelines will be announced during the sign up process.

Final match was a best of 5 between BeAsTy-xX and VietWinnxPuma and VietWinnxPumatook took home the $100 Game Stop gift certificate with a 3-0 sweep. It was a great final round though and BeAsTy-xX earned his $50 gift certificate. Great Tourney Afflicted Studios and they have announced they will have another tournament the weekend of the Black-Ops launch. This time they will be teaming up with ar50n who will handle the Xbox 360 side of the tournament. Resurgence Map Pack Is Out For XBOX 360

The Resurgence map pack for the XBOX 360 has just been released. It consists of 5 maps for $1200 MSP. That’s 3 new maps and 2 classic maps from Call Of Duty 4. Here is a rundown of the maps as described on XBOX.com.
“The best-selling Xbox 360 game of all time gets even bigger with more new content, first on Xbox LIVE! The Resurgence Pack delivers five epic multiplayer maps: “Carnival,” an abandoned amusement park with a variety of unique vantage points; “Fuel,” a massive oil refinery with extremely long sightlines; “Trailer Park,” a maze-like mobile estate surrounded by war-torn debris. Two legendary maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare return more detailed than ever, including “Strike,” a large urban center in the desert; and “Vacant,” a fast-paced Russian office complex with few places to take cover. ” The maps weigh in at 359.51mb just so you know how much hard drive space you will need.
I’ll have a review and some videos up tomorrow. So far so good on that maps. I suggest you buy them if you’re a fan of COD and if you’re here that’s a pretty safe assumption. Double XP Extended For XBOX 360

Just got word from Robert Bowling that the double xp has been extended until June 7th for Xbox 360. It’s in honor of the new resurgence map pack being released on Thursday. This is great news and should help me get close to my 10th prestige. Sorry PS3 and PC guys and gals the double xp is over for you for now. But i’m sure next month when you get the Resurgence map pack you will be taken care of.

There is a quick link for you guys so you can get your night vision goggles for your avatar for free. It’s a little gift to make up for the Stimulus Pack launch mixup. It’s not much. Especially since we just payed $15 for the Stimulus Map Pack. Which is totally worth it. I’ll have my full review of the map pack up soon. I’ve been enjoying my time with them though I can say that much at this point.

Stimulus Package Map Pack Out March 30th

Infinity Ward has announced the details for the upcoming Stimulus Pack. It will include 3 new maps and 2 classic maps. Here is the description of from the Marketplace page that was briefly up.

It’s shaping up to be a great map pack and it’s going to be 1200MSP I was hoping that it would be 800MSP like previous map packs on the system. Especially since I already purchased the two old maps when I bought COD4. But I think of it as a 90 minute movie and a medium drink. It’s $3 a map and for the amount of playtime we will get out of them it’s still a great deal. 2 weeks left til release and just in time to fight back some of the mapathy we’re going though. The Patch is out, The Patch is out…

I’m not fucking with you this time. Modery Warfare 2 has finally been patched. Here is a rundown of what’s been fixed in todays patch.

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Fixes to prevent various XP hacks (including the prevention of negative XP)

This patch is for the PS3 and Xbox 360 see you guys on the non-glitched battlefield.

Still Waiting For The Patch On Xbox

Well this is certainly getting frustrating. I was hoping that the care package glitch would be fixed by now but of course it’s still in certification. PS3 and PC have been patched for awhile and here we are the platform that actually pay for playing online still waiting. I love MW2 it’s a great game at it’s core. But the glitches have been plaguing it for most of it’s release.

I feel like I paid $80 for a beta(Got the hardened version no need for fisher price NVG) I have lost faith in Infinity Ward. Which sucks as it’s given me many hours of entertainment. But their quality control really was lacking on this release. They better do an open beta next time or I will have serious doubts on buying it day 1. I am a family man and my gaming time is limited I expect if I am going to invest my time into a game that i’m going to get what’s promised by the publisher.

I hope when this game is finally patched that we don’t have any more game breakers show up. It’s getting tiring to have to put up with glitch after glitch 3 months after release. It’s just not acceptable. Only bright side of this is it’s freed up a lot of time to work on the future plans of this site. Weekly video podcasts will be starting up soon and I’ll update when they are ready to go.
